I have been leading a team of 10 Tech Services & Project Engineers to ensure that QantasLink CAMO (P42) meets its technical management and ICA oversight responsibilities, as well as provide the P145 with technical advice and troubleshooting guidance. My team is also responsible for the reliability and performance management of the fleet and I actively lead my team to deliver on the key goals or improving dispatch performance and technical reliability.
I actively work across teams with the customer experience, Flight Operations, Brands and Commercial on a various technical projects and initiatives.
This manager role has enhanced my people management skills, as I have been allocating tasks, carrying out performance reviews and developing team plans, as well as resolving any conflicts that may arise. I have also been coaching and mentoring some off the junior team members, and representing the Tech Services team at various management forums.
As the Manager of the cross discipline team, I have been exposed to all aircraft and engine issues and this has enhanced my understanding of all technical issues with the aircraft / engines / propellers. I have also participated in a number of Bombardier forums, representing QantasLink Tech Services (Dash-8 Structures Steering Committee; Dash-8 Structures Task Group; Q400 Aircraft Economics Working Group; Q400 Technical Steering Committee; Oceania Review).
